A Scottish elopement on Loch Awe at Ardanaiseig Hotel - Christina & Chris

What an adventure.  A closed road... the ONLY road to the hotel... a chance meeting with the hair & make up girls... no phone signal anywhere and a kind petrol station owner with a landline.  I spoke to the wonderful team at the hotel and will never forget the girls' faces as I mouthed to them 'We're going by boat!'.  We made our way to the jetty at Loch Awe railway station and waited for our knight in shining armour, Steve.

Captain Lana did an amazing job of sailing us across the loch while Steve sailed the flowers and gear over in the other boat.  We arrived windswept and slightly soggy but very happy to be there.  After that it was plain sailing (sorry, I could NOT resist)...

Chris & Christina, with their beautiful golden retriever Isla, got married on the banks of Loch Awe.

I don't think I'll ever witness a more beautiful ceremony... the sound of the lake lapping at the shoreline, birds cawing overhead, the rustling of deer in the nearby woods and Isla paddling in the loch and rolling about on the grass (she LOVED it).  To be able to share the day was so special.  None of their family or friends knew they were getting married and it all felt so magical... the setting was breathtaking and I completely fell in love with Argyll.

Mr & Mrs Turner... thank you for choosing me to document your wedding.  I felt very privileged to be there and absolutely loved our time together. Here are some previews for you - I bet your family and friends will be itching to see them, now they know the happy news! xxx
