Emma & Nick: Dorfold Hall, Cheshire
A beautiful movie themed wedding at Dorfold Hall
Flower crowns, Jimmy Choos and one giant glitterball at Dorfold Hall
Sunshine… laughter… a shit load of confetti and a LOT of emotion. I give you Emma and Nick’s amazing Dorfold Hall wedding.
Back in February I rocked up at Dorfold Hall’s open day to meet these two and have a look at this new(ish) venue. It was love at first sight. They say they’re one of Cheshire’s best kept secrets and I totally agree.
And then I met Nick and Emma, and that was pretty much love at first sight too. We clicked. Instantly. They are both warm and funny and they’re so perfectly suited to one another. I knew that I had to be part of their day and thankfully they felt the same!

I sent my BFF and second shooter extraordinaire, Andrea Ellison, off to spend the morning with the boys. I knew they’d love her. For her talent, her humour, her lack of any sort of filter and her ability to drop the BEST swear words into any sentence. These are just some of the many reasons I love her.
Meanwhile, I was hanging out with the girls and we were enjoying a very chilled morning. The music was on, the fizz was flowing and the only thing Emma was stressing about was her flower crown (yes it looks beautiful, no you don’t look too hippy-ish). We eventually convinced her. I think. :)
Dad, Pete arrived to escort her to the ceremony and the emotions ran high. He hugged her proudly and said “I’m not going to want to give you away”. Cue all of us losing it. Pete, Emma and me all in floods of tears.
The happy tears continued as Emma said her vows to Nick. I love it when couples wear their heart on their sleeve.
Wedding reception at Dorfold Hall
Ceremony over, eyes dried, we formed the world’s biggest confetti line out of Dorfold’s coach house and Emma and Nick led the way into the walled garden for drinks. Leaving the guests to enjoy the sunshine and copious amounts of fizz the three of us nipped off for some portraits before rejoining everyone in the beautiful pole marquee for dinner.
Following great speeches from Nick and Pete it was time for the best man but he was AWOL… busy holding his wife’s hand through labour so Nick’s Dad stepped up and read the speech word for word - brilliant!
I left everyone dancing the night away under a giant glitterball. If the rest of the party was anywhere close to as good as the wedding itself then I can guarantee everyone had a blast.
Emma & Nick, I loved your day. I love you. Here are just a few of the best bits to keep you going until the final gallery arrives.
