A magical Volterra & Villa di Ulignano wedding in Tuscany, Italy - Kate & Taz
So after weeks of travelling for destination weddings in France and Italy, I finally shot my last one on Saturday in the beautiful city of Volterra, Tuscany and the nearby Villa di Ulignano. And what a wedding! I sometimes have to pinch myself when I see some of the places I get to shoot and seeing the Town Hall in Volterra was one of those times. The oldest town hall in Tuscany, it is absolutely breathtaking. Add to that the beauty of the villa and I was pretty giddy.
Kate and Tariq aka Taz booked me 18 months ago before they even had a venue though. They wanted to get me booked in and I am so happy they did! Two more lovely people you couldn't wish to meet... Kate is the quiet 'planner' and Taz the self-confessed joker and life & soul of this and (I imagine) any party. And they compliment one another absolutely perfectly.
The day ran like clockwork thanks to Francesca and Racquel at Wedding Italy (thank you for looking after everyone, me included!) and the band were none other than those ridiculously talented, cheeky chappies Brightlights who Kate found on this very blog.
I also had partners in crime on the day - the lovely Yana who came along to second shoot (I can't wait to see your photos) and videographers Ben & Sam from Ben Walton Films... I will forever remember driving up the steep, bumpy dirt road to the villa... Ben flying the drone from the moving car... and both us and the drone trying to catch up with K&T in their little Fiat! (Taz is clearly The Stig because they won!)
Kate & Taz... thank you... for choosing me, for trusting me and for being so wonderful. I had the BEST time. You, your friends and family are amazing and had I not had such an early flight home the next day I would have absolutely stayed to party with you all!
