York Minster, Jane Austen themed wedding - Lucy & her very own Mr Darcy

I've never shot a wedding quite like this before and maybe never will again... it was like an 'intimate' Royal wedding!  19 in the bridal party has to be some kind of record surely?

When Lucy first got in touch she talked of her obsession with Pride & Prejudice and joked that she might make Paul wear a frock coat.

She didn't.

So he did it anyway and kept it a surprise.  I will never forget Lucy's face as she realised what he was wearing. *imagine shocked face emoji here*

Personally, to be able to shoot a wedding in York Minster was very special indeed.  It's just astonishingly beautiful. The choir were incredible, I could have sat and listened to them all day.  Goosebumps.  As I was busy shooting Lucy & Paul exiting and fighting my way through the Minster visitors who had gathered, I suddenly realised what was belting out of the huge organ... the theme from Star Wars.  SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!  I emerged to yet more waiting crowds with a ridiculous smile on my face.

We were then led through the streets of York by a brilliant brass 4-piece to our final location, The Merchant Adventurers Hall for tea & cake, fizz & canapes, pies, some excellent speeches, music, dancing and lots of laughter.  What a day!

Thank you as always to Samantha Kay Photography for being a fabulous second shooter (and negotiating your way behind the organist to get the shots of Lucy and the bridal party entering!).

Lucy & Paul - thank you for choosing me to be your photographer, it was such a pleasure to spend time with you both, with your gorgeous little boy and all of your wonderful family and friends.  xx
