Willington Hall Hotel - Vintage 50's inspired bridal extravaganza!
Shoots like this have to be the most fun you can have with your clothes on. Seriously. An amazing location... beautiful weather (mostly... don't let those blue skies fool you), fabulous models...
...an incredible make-up artist, vintage props galore (think birdcages, old suitcases, vintage cups & saucers, cake stands, lanterns and more), stunning vintage brooch bouquets and fascinators, gorgeous 50s wedding dresses, huge red petticoats and delicious cakes that look as good as they taste (we had to sample).
Add to that the chance to work with two incredible photographers (and friends) Andrea Ellison Photography and Jo Rutherford Photography, and you have one hell of a day.
This was the brainchild of Mandy from Saddleworth Shindigs - a themed wedding shoot using all of her gorgeous vintage props, to show brides-to-be just how beautiful their day can be, however big or small an occasion.
So we set to work finding other vendors. Helen from Cat's Whiskers Cake Design, Lynn from Hairbowswonderworld, Amy from Honeypie Boutique, Hannah from Make-Up by Indi who also modelled for us (her first time, not that you would know it she was fabulous!) and our other amazing model was Amelia from Blue Velvet Vintage Store.
These are my photos from the day. It was funny, exhausting, emotional... but ultimately wonderful. Just like a real wedding. And if I had the chance to do my big dayall over again, I'd want it to be just like this...

Not wanting to be outdone by the royals, we also decided on a very British themed shoot in true patriotic fashion. Who says you have to get married in white or ivory?,
